I wasn't going to watch it.
I really wasn't.
But somehow I ended up on Twitter, which somehow linked me up to the most horrifying eight-and-a-half minutes of my life.
No matter how I considered the situation, I couldn't think of one reason to justify the Planned Parenthood video.
You might have seen it by now. It's the video about Planned Parenthood selling body parts of aborted babies. If you have not seen it yet, click here to see it. But I warn you, you'll feel like throwing up afterward.
After seeing it I knew I had to write something about the sickness I had just witnessed.
But I didn't even know where to start.
I tried to be open-minded in thinking about the various angles and aspects of this issue. So many "progressive Christians," after all, seem to take great care to protect the woman's choice in the matter.
But no matter how I considered the situation, I couldn't think of one reason to justify the Planned Parenthood video.
But I could easily think of a million and one reasons I was horrified by this video on selling body parts for gain.
I won't bore you with the million and one because only one reason really matters.
Abortion kills babies.
I'm not waving a flag in front of an abortion clinic to make my point.
I'm not showing a video of a decapitated baby to make my point.
I'm not giving you stats and figures to prove to you that I'm right.
I'm not even flaunting the fact that I'm an Emergency Room Pediatrician who knows a thing or two about life.
I'm just telling you what you already know deep in your heart.
There are a million and one reasons to be horrified by the Planned Parenthood video, but only one that really matters:
Abortion kills babies.
If you've ever had an abortion, I am deeply deeply sorry for your pain. Know that you can be forgiven in Christ. There is room for you in God's family. There is grace at the abortion table. I wrote about it here.
Remember that you don't need a million and one reasons to speak up. You only need one.
Please, please, please, if you're considering getting an abortion, don't. Whatever the reason you're tempted to take that route, know that there are many loving families who would care for your baby.
