Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing. —1 Thessalonians 5:11
As Christians, we have the responsibility and privilege of encouraging one another and building one another up. Colossians 3:17 also tells us that whatever we do, “in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
What do your deeds say about you? Are you representing Christ with the things you do? Do your spouse and your children see you representing Christ in your home?
We need to make sure that everything we do and say shows glory to Jesus. With each smile you give as you walk down the street, with each prayer you pray on someone else’s behalf, you lift up a downcast soul and direct them to the One who can redeem them and give them hope. Every day that you speak, you should make Christ known. That’s the bottom line.
We won’t do it perfectly. But each day we get an opportunity to do it again and again, “giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
