I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. —Psalm 139:14
My husband is a true craftsman. He is ener- gized by a fine hide of leather or a perfect plank of wood. His mind is always working ten steps ahead, considering what he will build next. I admire this about him now, but I admit I haven’t always. Yet I’ve learned to adore my husband’s creative side because I see it as a way he bears the image of God.
God is infinitely creative. He paints sunrises and sunsets in thousands of shades of color. He made over 10,000 species of birds. He carved giant mountains out of stone and sparkling diamonds out of carbon. No doubt the process of creation is never-ending and sometimes messy, yet aren’t we grateful we love and serve a creative God?
God has wired us all differently, in ways that reflect His creative heart. May we use the unique gifts and talents He’s given us to solve problems, serve others, and advance the kingdom—all for His glory!
