He Is Faithful

January 15, 2024 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Because of the LORD’s faithful love we do not perish, for his mercies never end. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness! —Lamentations 3:22–23

Less than five years after Robert and I said “I do,” the Lord led us into a major opportunity to experience and embrace His sovereign rule in our lives. Just as the world was being upended by the global pandemic, my otherwise healthy husband, over the course of just a handful of months, received diagnoses of two different unrelated cancers.

Looking back, we can see clearly that God had been preparing us for this journey. In 2019, Robert and I coauthored a book called You Can Trust God to Write Your Story. We reflected on God’s providences—some painful, some beautiful, but all good—in our own story. And while we didn’t know then (and still don’t!) what rocky paths we may yet be called to travel, we know He has been faithful in each chapter thus far. And we know that He will be faithful in each one yet to come, that His grace will be sufficient for wherever He leads us.
