Just Do

“Whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” —Matthew 7:12

No matter where we go, whether it’s the grocery store, work, church, or anywhere else, we’re surrounded by people who are hurting and broken. How can we reach out and be Jesus to them when often their pain is masked? If we want to take advantage of the opportunities around us, we must live by the golden rule: Whatever you want others to do, you do also to them.

How can we help when people are grieving? When they’re experiencing overwhelming burdens and needed help yesterday? When you don’t know what to do, you do.

“Do” is an action; it’s a verb. It’s something you do because God gives you opportunity to do it. You do for others what you would want them to do for you.

The enemy is relentless. He never gives up trying to make us believe that God doesn’t care about what’s happening in our lives. But when we “do unto others,” we are a living, breathing embodiment of the Father’s love.
