Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! —Psalm 103:1
We all have the ability to create an atmosphere of positive or negative emotions in our homes. When I wake up in a good mood, my family is happy and everything is great. But if I have a bad attitude, everyone pays the consequences.
One day when I was choosing to react poorly to my circumstances, God showed me that the store- house of gratitude toward Him in my heart was almost empty. Since then, I have purposed to shut down the voices of complaint—a daily battle.
One way I do that is by keeping my eyes on things above. When I keep my eyes down, I only focus on my current situation, which can fill me with doubt, anguish, and resentment. I compare myself to others and look at life as a glass half full.
It’s time to raise our eyes to heaven and thank God for His redemptive plan through Jesus Christ. Our life has purpose because we are hidden in Christ and in Him we have everything.
