Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day. —Psalm 119:97
This verse from Psalm 119 has captured my heart. At the same time it’s greatly challenged me, because it’s not a reality in my life.
I long for God’s Word to be my continuous meditation, for my steps to rush to fulfill it and my heart to treasure it. I want to know everything He wants to tell me about His law.
In just the first few verses, I’m confronted with questions like these:
-
Am I continually walking in the law of the Lord?
-
Am I seeking the Lord and His Word with all my heart?
-
Am I grateful when God shows me some truth or confronts me?
-
Do I feel helpless if I don’t have the Word of God?
I long for a heart that considers God’s law first over anything else. I want Him to fill me with a fervent longing for Him.
