Pointing Women to Jesus
Around the World
[The gospel] is bearing fruit and growing all over the world, just as it has among you since the day you heard it and came to truly appreciate God’s grace. —Colossians 1:6 CSB
In May, leaders and representatives from our international teams in twelve countries joined our U.S. staff for the first Revive Our Hearts Staff Summit. These friends have been impacted by the ministry of Revive Our Hearts and are passionate about sharing the good news of the gospel and the hope of Jesus with women around the world.

It has helped me in many ways to connect with Christ on a deeper level: to have a love for His Word, to see and think about the Scriptures in a new way, and to know more about Jesus. Mostly, it has convicted me to live out the gospel . . . to live as Christ intended me to.” —“Joanne”

He Is Reviving Local Church Leaders
“God brought several leaders together who had experienced church splits, fights with neighbors, jealousy over funding, or a falling out within the church. They reconciled around my table. During our first-ever Revive Our Hearts Staff Summit, Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth spoke to over 200 ROH staff, spouses, Ambassadors, and other guests. “If we don’t have the Lord’s hand upon us,” Nancy said, “we won’t make it.”
“Ministry is a sacred and holy calling,” she continued. “We press on, knowing we’ll give an account to the Lord for our work and that one day we’ll receive His reward.” As she concluded, Nancy turned to Ezra 7:28: “I took courage because I was strengthened by the hand of the Lord my God.”

Meet Ciara and David Dierking
Earlier this fall, the Revive Our Hearts production team traveled to Ciara and David’s home in South Carolina to record their story.
In Her Hardest Moments . . . He Was Her Reason for Gratitude
In December 2023, Ciara and David Dierking drove from their home in Rock Hill, South Carolina, to Pennsylvania to visit family for the Christmas holiday. Their youngest son became sick, and on December 26, Ciara took him to the emergency room.
Two days later, Ciara herself became ill and was admitted to the hospital and sent to the ICU. Doctors diagnosed her with influenza B, group A strep, and severe pneumonia. Toxins entered her bloodstream, and her body went into toxic shock. Her medical team didn’t expect her to survive.
When signs of dry gangrene began to show, the need for amputation of both Ciara’s arms and legs became necessary. Doctors discovered she had also developed a deadly fungus, which further deteriorated the tissue on her arms and legs. Once again, her family was told she had a critically low chance of survival.
Ciara’s condition was dire, her life changed forever . . . but God had been preparing her to meet this enormous challenge head on through a resource from Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
In a bag Ciara had packed for the trip, her mother-in-law found Nancy’s book Choosing Gratitude. Ciara had made notes in the margins and highlighted passages like these:
In those moments when I have found myself gasping for air, feeling that I was going under, I’ve discovered that gratitude truly is my life preserver. (p. 16)
Over time, choosing gratitude means choosing joy. But that choice requires constantly renewing our minds with the Truth of God’s Word, setting our hearts to savor God and His gifts, and disciplining our tongues to speak words that reflect His goodness and grace—until a grateful spirit becomes our reflexive response to all of life. (p. 19)
Gratitude was indeed the life preserver Ciara would need to face her future. After 168 days in the hospital, Ciara went home, and the family began the long process of adjusting to a new normal with Ciara as a quadruple amputee.
As she continues her healing journey, Ciara and David feel called to share their story of God’s goodness through this trial. This fall, they welcomed a crew from Revive Our Hearts into their home for two days of filming, where the team recorded content to be shared on the Revive Our Hearts website and podcast.
Through it all, Ciara remains grateful, writing:
Some days are really long and hard, and I miss the life I used to have. I’m so thankful for God’s patience with me and for the strength and peace He provides when I turn to Him. I like what Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth says: “Anything that makes me need God is a blessing.”
