I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but just because we feel something, doesn’t mean that it’s true. Here’s a practical example. Right now I am all snuggled in my house with a warm cup of tea. I am comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. Every room is bright because the afternoon sun is shining through the windows. I can even hear a bird chirping outside. In fact, it feels a lot like Spring to me. But, one step out the door and I would realize that my feelings have deceived me. It is a blustery 23 degrees outside. Even though I’m not feeling the cold air on my face right now, it is definitely still winter. Our emotions can be like that. You may feel like no one loves you when in fact there are dozens of people in your life who care deeply for you. Difficult circumstances may cause you to feel like God has abandoned you when His Word promises that he will never leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). You may even feel like a challenge you are facing is impossible to overcome despite the fact that God’s Word promises that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13). The bottom line is, our emotions don’t always reflect God’s Truth. Here are 10 truths straight from God’s Word. I am praying that God will use them to help expose areas where your feelings have deceived you to the liberating power of Truth. 1. When you are having a really bad day and you are tempted to feel that God is not good.
