It's Simple. It's Jesus.

Just think, every promise the Father has ever made finds its fulfillment in Jesus.

"No matter how many promises God has made, they are Yes in Christ. And so through him the Amen is spoken by us to the glory of God" (2 Cor. 1:20).

This means:

  • When God promises that He will impart to you His grace, He gives you Jesus, the Lord of grace.
  • When God promises to give you peace, He gives you Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
  • When He promises to comfort you, He gives you the Lord of all comfort.
  • When He imputes to you His righteousness, He gives you His Son, the Lord of righteousness.

Your very life finds its source in Jesus, the Word of Life.

Even the familiar promises of Romans 8:28–29 find their fulfillment in Christ.

"We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him . . . For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son" (emphasis added).

Jesus is everything to you—the answer to your every hope, prayer, and promise. As you can see, the Christian walk is not so complicated after all. It is simple. It is Jesus. Even Revelation 3:14 says,

"These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation."

The word "Amen" means "so be it." Today, take a moment to consider how Jesus is the "so be it" in your life.

Join me in singing these words from the old hymn,

"Standing on the promises of Christ my Lord, bound to him eternally by love's strong cord, overcoming daily with the Spirit's sword, standing on the promises of God."

When you stand on God's promises today, your firm footing is on Jesus. Until we meet at True Woman '14, keep holding fast to His promises!
