Joanna is a pediatric oncologist in Texas but has spent most of her life up north, growing up in Minnesota. She was blessed to grow up in a Christian family and came to know Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. With her interest in science and having served in children’s ministry for years, becoming a pediatrician was an appealing choice. She majored in pharmacology (during which she was privileged to hear Nancy’s ministry from the beginning) and chose to subspecialize in pediatric oncology, completing all training in 2015. She focuses on finding the best, targeted new drugs to help children with cancer, especially those with leukemia. She also teaches a Sunday school class for high school girls, encouraging them to embrace their own walk with Christ and to turn to Scripture for answers on everything from creation to culture.
