To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. —2 Peter 1:1
Sometimes we think of other people as being more spiritually blessed than we are. But there aren’t different classes of believers. You have the same privileges as every other believer when it comes to your salvation.
You also have the same responsibilities of every other believer—to nurture your faith, to cultivate it, grow it, and use it. And you have the same resources available to you to make that possible.
That means you can be spiritually mature. You can walk with God. You can walk in victory over sin. You can say “no” to temptation. You can add things like virtue, knowledge, self-control, steadfastness, and love to your faith.
God has given you the same resources He gave the apostle Peter. The same resources He’s given your pastor. The same resources are available to you as are available to every other believer. So, grow in your faith. It’s a faith of equal standing with every other follower of Christ.
Make it Personal
Thank God that He has given you—and every other follower of Christ—all the resources you need to grow in your faith.
