A Lifetime of Surrender

April 7, 2025 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. —Galatians 2:20

As my faith has matured, I’ve faced many situations that required a fresh affirmation and expression of that initial surrender to God. There have been daily choices to obey His Word and the promptings of His Spirit.

• Hold your tongue—don’t try to prove your point.
• Open your home to that couple who needs a place to stay.
• Spend time in the Word and prayer before starting the business of your day.

On occasion, the pathway of obedience has required a more costly surrender.

• Forgive that person who defamed your reputation.
• Go to that person who has a grievance against you and seek to be reconciled.
• Yield the right to be married and to have children of your own.

Whether large or small, those points of surrender over the years have been simplified because of that initial surrender to the lordship of Christ when I was a little girl.
