We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God. —Romans 8:28
More times than I can count, I’ve shared with others something unforgettable I heard Pastor John Piper say years ago: “In every situation you face, God is always doing a thousand different things that you cannot see and you do not know.”
Oh, if we think hard, we may be able to discern a few things He’s doing amid the mess around us. Looking back, we might be able to see a few more. But unseen and unknown to us, He is in fact doing a thousand or more things. Things that one day become clear to us, either in this world or the next.
Perhaps from where you sit today, you can see only miscellaneous, frayed, disconnected strands that make no sense, no matter how hard you try to figure it out. But on the flip side of the tapestry God is weaving in and through our lives—the tangle of threads that we can see—He is creating a picture of great beauty and worth for those who will trust Him.
Make it Personal
Thank God that He is always at work in and through you—even when you cannot see what He’s doing.
