Ask Him

October 24, 2024 Blair Linne

Consider how I love your precepts; Lord, give me life according to your faithful love. —Psalm 119:159

Only those who have experienced abundant life by the Spirit desire more of it. Christ has already given us new life when we were regenerated, yet he is willing to give us a renewed spirit as we come to him asking for more Christ-likeness.

If you are in a season of drought or discouragement, look to God’s word and receive the life that he is willing to give. At your moment of temptation, the enemy is trying to snatch your life away. He wants to replace your God-given life with a counterfeit. Resist him. Draw close to Christ. Determine that you will never stop asking until Christ answers your request for revival (James 4:6–10). As you enter seasons where you are afflicted in every way, remember that no matter what the tempter says, you are not crushed, despairing, forsaken, or destroyed (2 Cor. 4:8–9). To have Christ is to have eternal life.1
