“Truly I tell you, the Son is not able to do anything on his own, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son likewise does these things.” —John 5:19
One of the things that strikes me the most about Jesus is His dependence on His Father. He is God. He didn’t need help, but He chose to become dependent. He did it to give us an example.
If you want to be a brave woman, you need to depend on God. There is no other way! You cannot be pious by yourself. A branch cannot grow apart from the tree (John 15:1–8). The good news is that if you are a follower of Christ, you are united with Him. Nothing can separate you from Him. You need to grow in complete dependence on the Father just like Christ did.
Christ modeled a life of constant prayer. The Word of God was constantly in His mouth. He gave us an example, and we need to follow it. We need to go to our Father in desperation and need because everything else flows from Him.
