He gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” —James 4:6
James 4:6 is generally used for comparing proud vs. humble people. However, there’s that little piece in the beginning that says God gives us more grace. It’s there for us when we need more.
The action required for us to open this end-less reservoir of grace, however, is humbling ourselves. This can take different forms. It might mean accepting that your marriage needs work and taking steps to get it back on track. Or it might look like admitting that you do too many things and then coming up with ways to break the habit of trying to do it all.
Grace can be for flushing out the things in your life that the Lord has shown you to be toxic. In the short history I have had with God Almighty, I’ve seen that He is so wonderful and so thorough. If He has pinpointed the pain, He will not just let it rattle around in your life. He will flush it out by His grace.
