We all went astray like sheep; we all have turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished him for the iniquity of us all. —Isaiah 53:6
The gospel is clear: (1) sin has separated us from God, (2) we cannot close the gap, and (3) God has made the way back to Him through Christ.
No matter how we communicate the gospel, whether summarizing it in bullet points, quoting Bible passages, or telling our own salvation story, we need to hear it again and again. Not because it loses its power but because we loosen our grip.
The enemy is anti-gospel even after we have been born again. In some ways he may even try harder to unravel our faith in an effort to numb us to its joy, power, and freedom. Which is why believing the gospel is truly a matter of continuing to believe it. We would have no hope in the gospel’s permanence if God had not met His own demands. But because God the Son willingly received the iniquity God the Father laid on Him, salvation is full and forever. Keep believing it!
