He’s Preparing You

God gave these four young men knowledge and understanding. —Daniel 1:17

Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah weren’t the only ones involved in the Babylonian training program for elite young Hebrews. They’re just the only four the Bible tells us about. But what we learn from what we’re told is that God was equipping them with exactly what they required.

The same God who rules over nations and who handed Judah over to the king of Babylon was also at work in the details of His people’s lives. And the same is true for you. God will always give you what you need in ways that may not be clear or even visible to you in the moment. But He is preparing you for opportunities and circumstances that lie ahead.

Your job and mine is simply to trust Him. And because of who He is, we can trust Him. No matter what the situation, we are covered by His watchful love and care and can be assured that He knows the best way to walk us through it. Even when what we are walking through feels unfair as well as painful.
