Who among you walks in darkness, and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord; let him lean on his God. —Isaiah 50:10
We are too easily convinced that if we aren’t seeing it or hearing about it, it isn’t happening. Enhanced technology has convinced us that we can stay on top of all the news, that we have up-to-the-minute awareness of world events from every conceivable vantage point.
This is a numbing lie from the enemy of God, an attempt to seduce us into disillusionment. Perhaps God doesn’t care as much as He used to. Perhaps He’s withholding His power for a later time.
Interestingly, when God was pulling the prophet Habakkuk out of despair, He said, “I am doing something in your days that you will not believe when you hear about it” (1:5, emphasis added). In your days. God’s work was not just a matter of history, nor had He suspended it until some future day. He needed Habakkuk to know, as He needs us to know, that He was—and is—at work now. In your days.
Make it Personal
Today, as you pray about the burdens of your heart, by faith acknowledge that God is already working there.
