Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. —Galatians 6:9
Ministry is hard work. When you are a servant of the Lord, you will work long hours. You will be up late planning, studying, preparing, cleaning up, putting up when other people are sleeping or playing or having vacations. But it’s all part of our calling, to be an ambassador of Christ. Ministry, someone has said, is . . .
• Giving when you feel like keeping.
• Praying for others when you need to be prayed for.
• Feeding others when your own soul is hungry.
• Living truth before people even when you can’t see the results.
• Hurting with other people even when your own hurt can’t be spoken.
• Keeping your word even when it’s not convenient.
• Being faithful when your flesh wants to run away.
That is ministry. All the hard work will be worth it one day when we stand before our Lord and Savior and hear Him say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Make it Personal
Thank God for the privilege of working hard to serve Him as you serve others in your family, church, or community.
