I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. —Philippians 3:14 ESV
Throughout my life, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing a powerful dynamic—women living out the beauty of the gospel together. I’ve watched it transform resistant teenage girls into shining models of Christian faith. I’ve seen it redirect young wives and mothers from giving up. I’ve observed older women get back into the race, discovering that what young women really want from them is a heart that desires Christ and is seeking to obey Him.
My own life has been molded and changed by this gift of intentional, life-to-life friendship, community, and discipleship. I’ll admit I came to a point, around age fifty, where my heart and body just wanted to start coasting. But I know I can’t live for Christ and live for me at the same time. If I choose myself, I’m choosing to miss out on something a lot more valuable than my self-centered desires and comfort. And I can attest that as I have chosen Him, He has continually amazed me with His persistent faithfulness and joy.

How has an older Christian inspired you in your Christian walk? How can you come alongside a younger believer to encourage them?
