Jesus, Our Only Hope for Salvation

He who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” —Revelation 21:5

In Revelation 21:1–6, we find the perfect road-map for hope. The contemporary audience to whom the apostle John wrote was going through difficult times of persecution. Yet in these six verses, we are reminded that we can have hope when we affirm our knowledge of the gospel—the good news that the Messiah came and with Him salvation for our souls.

Through Christ, there is no more condemnation (Rom. 8:1–2); we can have eternal life. That makes a big difference between what we believe and how we apply it. If we believe that this world is the end, then we will be busy thinking about everything we don’t have. But if we have put our trust in what Christ won for us on the cross, then we will walk safely, knowing that the only thing that difficulties can destroy is this mortal body (2 Cor. 4: 17–18).

Only the gospel will allow you to access this. There is hope in only one Person, and His name is Jesus.
