“One thing is necessary. Mary has made the right choice, and it will not be taken away from her.” —Luke 10:42
I once asked several older, godly women how they could have consistent devotions when their children were young. Some admitted that they didn’t; most acknowledged it wasn’t easy. But they all agreed it must be a priority. Here’s a practical idea that one woman shared:
This season of life doesn’t always lend itself to longer, in-depth study of the Word, but even a few verses and a short prayer and worship time have helped me through many days. God understands our circumstances and our heart’s desire to meet with Him. We can’t put ourselves on a guilt trip at this stage of life when we can’t spend as much time as we’d like in the Word. But it must still be our top priority, however brief it may be.
If you can’t spend hours and hours, what time can you carve out? God knows your heart. I believe if you make it a priority to spend what moments you can with Him, He will bless and multiply that time.

What can you do today to make spending time with God a priority?
