So, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. —Colossians 1:9 ESV
God has been gracious to raise up around me an incredible team of praying men and women. Many of those individuals, some of whom do not even know me well, have shared that they pray for me every single day. I cannot imagine what blessing and protection I would be missing if it were not for their faithful, fervent prayers on my behalf. The impact of their prayers on my life motivates me to intercede on behalf of those that God has put on my heart.
I don’t think we can really begin to fathom the effect that may be had on the lives of others through our prayers. As Andrew Bonar points out, “How much we may be to blame for the faults of others not being cured! We point to their faults and failings, but we don’t pray for them.”1
