When they arrived at Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church, the apostles, and the elders, and they reported all that God had done with them. —Acts 15:4
Peter, Barnabas, James, and Paul—these were all men who worked in the trenches sharing the good news. Now in Acts 15, they were united under one roof with one common goal: to solve the matter at hand. Was salvation by faith in Jesus or faith in Jesus plus the rules of Moses? To help make their case, “they reported all that God had done with them” (v. 4).
They didn’t argue for their own benefit. They wanted to lead others to the abundant grace they had received from Jesus. These men had something valuable to say because they knew God in an intimate way. They were certain of their identity in Christ, they knew the Word, and their lives and ministries had been forever changed by the gospel.
No matter what you’re facing today, remember what Jesus did in the past, is doing in the present, and will do in the future. Then share that boldly with other people around you.
