Satisfied in Christ

“Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again. But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again.” —John 4:13–14

When we search for our identity in people, places, and things other than Jesus, in the long run all those wells will dry up and we will dry up with them. Yet the saving grace of Jesus is an inexhaustible source from which we can drink into eternity. He will quench our thirst for purpose, adopt us as His children, fill our need for approval, and overflow our joy.

Let’s drink from that fountain from which forgiveness flows for every need and which will always be enough to fill the standard that we can never reach! The source that mitigates in us the desire to conform to the world and fills us with its fullness and abundance.

And once we are satisfied in Christ, we will be able to embrace our convictions correctly because our acceptance will not come from them but from the One who has made us His forever.
