Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified [us] to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. —Colossians 1:12
When we consider the love of Christ, His incomparable sacrifice, and His gift of full redemption, how can we let a single day pass without giving thanks? God has saved us from sin and Satan and self. From darkness and destruction and death. Let us be grateful.
Thank Him for His salvation. “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Rom. 5:8).
Thank Him for His calling. “I thank him,” the apostle Paul said, “who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful, appointing me to his service” (1 Tim. 1:12).
Thank Him for all He accomplished on the cross: victory over death and the grave (1 Cor. 15:57); deliverance from indwelling sin (Rom. 7:25); the ultimate triumph of the gospel (Rev. 11:17).
His gifts to us are as boundless and endless as He is. In fact, I expect to spend the rest of eternity unwrapping those blessings!
