He gives strength to the faint and strengthens the powerless. —Isaiah 40:29
Do you ever try to read the Bible and pray, but you’re too exhausted? Maybe you get up early to spend time with God, but you end up falling asleep. I know that can be frustrating, but I want to encourage you not to give up.
The first question you should ask is, Why am I tired? Maybe there’s a physical reason that could be addressed with diet and exercise. It’s not something I naturally enjoy, but I do exercise because it gives me greater stamina and strength to seek the Lord and do what He wants me to do.
We also need to be looking at our schedules and making sure we’re using time wisely. We can make sure that the things we’re doing truly represent God’s will for this season of our lives.
And we can ask God for help. Remember the words of Isaiah 40:31: “Those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.”
Make it Personal
Examine your daily routine to see if there’s something you need to change to have greater stamina to seek and serve the Lord.
