Those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint. —Isaiah 40:31
I have discovered that the more tired I am, the more I need the refreshing of God’s presence. Yes, there are those days when the eyelids are heavy. But there is something energizing about time spent in the Word, praise, and prayer. Perhaps that is because when we express our weakness and need to God, He pours out His grace.
When your body is weary, ask the Lord for the physical strength necessary to do His will; He knows your needs and can be trusted to meet them. In Jesus’ time of greatest need, as He prayed in the garden of Gethsemane, Luke’s account tells us “an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him” (Luke 22:43). As you pray, exercise faith in His promise from Isaiah 40 above.
Let’s not let physical weakness keep us from a close relationship with the Lord. He’s the One who can give us strength.
