A Clear Conscience, Day 3

Leslie Basham: When Rick Lawson experienced revival during a Life Action Summit, he was convicted that he needed to clear his conscience. Five years earlier, he’d lied on an application for a security clearance, hiding past drug use. Even though the maximum penalty for lying was ten years in jail or a ten thousand dollar fine, he knew he had to make things right.

Rick Lawson: The paperwork fit in a number ten envelope, and I filled that out and took it to work again. It took me about three tries to walk from my desk down to the security office to turn it in. I would be thinking thoughts like, Rick, you know, if there's no God, then you're going to throw your life away, and it's unrecoverable.
