Revive Our Hearts Presents Grounded
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: When life doesn’t go the way you expect, what’s going to keep you grounded?
Dannah Gresh: Well, we’ve all been challenged to ask ourselves that question. Especially starting last March when the COVID-19 outbreak really began spreading and many of us went into some sort of lockdown.
To some extent we’ve gotten a little more used to living in a pandemic, but do you remember all the fear of the unknown back in March, Nancy?
Nancy: Boy, I sure do! Here at Revive Our Hearts we were asking ourselves what we could do to help women stay rooted and grounded in God’s truth. Even as it seemed that the ground was shaking under our feet, I remember some of us met in a Zoom room, we couldn’t even meet together, and we talked about this.

We said women are stuck at home. They’re worried. Their jobs have changed or been lost. Parenting has changed; school has changed. How can we offer an infusion of hope and perspective for these women? And one week later on March 23, 2020, Dannah, you and Erin Davis appeared live on YouTube with the first ever episode of a new videocast we called Grounded.
Dannah: This is the Revive Our Hearts podcast with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, author of A Place of Quiet Rest. It’s Saturday, January 16. I’m Dannah Gresh. You may be asking yourself, Why are Dannah and Nancy here on a Saturday?
Nancy: Yeah, Dannah. I think this is a first. What we’re doing is producing a bonus episode of the Revive Our Hearts podcast, which is normally just Monday through Friday. We are doing this so that we can introduce you to the new Grounded podcast.
To introduce this new podcast, let’s continue with our little Grounded history lesson.
Dannah: Yeah, let’s do that. We began Grounded as a daily videocast last March. We didn’t really have expectations for how long we’d continue. In the summer we paused and reset. But we know women still need an infusion of hope and perspective.
So, as of this past fall, you can watch Grounded live every Monday morning at 9 am EST.
Nancy: And Dannah for those who may not have had the chance to see Grounded yet, tell us about some of the components that usually go into a Grounded program?
Dannah: Well, it’s important to know we launched Grounded in the middle of a lot of bad news. So, we usually bring you a “good news” segment because there’s plenty of bad news in the headlines. But if you look around, God’s people are grounded in acts of kindness and helpfulness, and we want to bring that to light.
Then we open God’s Word together, because we want to be grounded in God’s truth. In most episodes, we hear an interview with a guest, and that’s usually dealing with some of the practical issues of life that we have to face during these troubled times.
Nancy: And no matter what happens with this pandemic or other issues we faced in the last year, we know that in this new year there will be new issues. And really, until Jesus comes back, we’re all going to continue needing hope and perspective.
And even as, Lord willing, we’ll soon be moving past this pandemic and some of the other crazy chaotic things that were part of 2020, the fact is, they’re going to be new troubled times and situations in 2021, in our individual lives and collectively.
We’re going to continue to need regular infusions of hope and perspective. You can get that from Grounded in a few different ways. You can watch the videocast live on Monday mornings at 9:00 Eastern Time, or you can watch that videocast later when it’s convenient for you.
To do that just subscribe to the Revive Our Hearts’ YouTube channel for both those options. And you’ll be notified when there’s a new episode available for you to watch.
Dannah: Now, let me talk to you if you’re more of a listener, and you like to listen to podcasts while you’re driving or doing other tasks. As of this month, you can now hear this as a podcast as part of the new Revive Our Hearts family of podcasts, because we want to proclaim biblical truth in a variety of formats offering freedom, fullness, and fruitfulness in Christ to women inall seasons of life.

Now for the rest of our time today, we’re going to turn things over to the Grounded podcast crew. You’ll hear one complete episode, and if you like what you hear be sure to subscribe to Grounded through your favorite podcast app.
