A Burning House
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Do you know someone who’s in a dangerous situation?
Woman: I don’t know what’s wrong with my sister. She’s on the verge of an affair. I don’t know if I should get involved.
Nancy: If you noticed that your neighbor’s house was on fire in the middle of the night, you’d do whatever it would take to get their attention. You wouldn’t worry about hurting their feelings. You’d pound on the door and try to get them out of the danger.
Maybe you know someone in danger. Not with a literal house on fire. But maybe you know someone who knows the truth of God’s Word, yet they’re toying with a dangerous, sinful situation. God may have you in a place to pound on their door.
Here's what James 5 says: “If one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins” (vv. 19–20).
