A Cup of Coffee
Nancy Leigh DeMoss: A friend of mine named Maria started bringing a cup of coffee to her husband’s bedside every morning. He mentioned it in passing at work, and his coworkers couldn’t believe it.
Maria: It made him like a king before those men. He came home beaming from ear to ear.
Nancy: Now, you need to realize, at one time in her life, Maria would not have done this. She admits that for many years she was critical toward her husband and focused on getting her own needs met. But ten years ago, she had a change of heart.
Maria: The difference in our relationship and his response in the marriage from the first twenty-eight years to the last ten has been so amazing.
Nancy: Maria has embraced her biblical role as a helper to her husband.
Maria: As I sought to make him the best he can be, to be the person who cheers him on, to believe in him more than he believes in himself, my husband began to change.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy Leigh DeMoss.
