Woman: Every day I get up at dawn, get my tea, and read the Bible on the back porch. I've been doing it that way for years! But lately, I’m doing all the same things, but the joy just isn’t there. I’m not really connecting with God.
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Sometimes we can get in a devotional rut. We get so focused on the mechanics of what we’re doing that we lose the meaning behind it.
I do recommend using a regular Bible reading plan. But occasionally, when I need some freshness in my devotional life, I may take a few days out from my normal Bible reading schedule to focus on and meditate on just a few verses.
Woman: Psalm 77:12: 'I will meditate on all your works and consider all your mighty deeds.' The last couple of days I’ve stayed on that verse and spent a long time thinking about all of the amazing things God’s done. It’s been great!
