A Record of Faithfulness
Man: Through all my growing-up years, my mom kept a record for the family of the things that God did. Whenever He’d answer prayer, she would write it down. And now my copy of that journal is really a treasure!
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: That reminds me of what Moses did while the children of Israel spent forty years in the wilderness. Numbers 33 says, “At the LORD’s command Moses recorded the stages in their journey” (v. 2).
I think God told Moses to keep that journal so the Israelites would remember what they had learned. But I think it was also so their children and we could learn those same lessons.
In Romans we read, “Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope” (15:4).
How are your children and future generations going to know what God’s done in your life unless you tell them?
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
