A Strong Tower
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: A lot of people are familiar with the Christmas story, found in Luke chapter 2, all about the angels and the shepherds on that first Christmas.
But Luke 2 goes on from there. The verse following the story of the shepherds tells us, “He was called Jesus, the name given by the angel” (v. 21).
That name, Jesus, speaks about this Child as one who will “deliver His people.” I think it’s significant to look at that name, Deliverer, during this Christmas season.
What do you need to be delivered from? The Christmas season may remind you of painful situations, strained relationships, loneliness, or loss. You may be facing temptation or feel the frustration of a tight budget.
Whatever it is, don’t forget to include the naming of Jesus, our Deliverer, in your Christmas story. Turn to your Deliverer this season. The name of the Lord is a strong tower. Run to Him and be safe.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
