Away from Home
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Many women have husbands who are away from home.
Woman: My husband leaves for work when it’s dark and comes home when it’s dark. The kids never even get to see him.
Nancy: They may be physically out of the house or just emotionally disconnected.
Woman: My husband comes home and stays on the couch all evening. It’s like having another piece of furniture!
Nancy: You may feel like the woman in Proverbs 7 who says, “My husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey” (v. 19).
This woman is in the process of initiating an affair with a young man in her area. She’s responding to her husband’s absence by looking for counterfeit love.
But true, godly love stays faithful, even when a husband is “away.” Even if it feels like you’re often left alone, you glorify God by staying faithful to your marriage. And then be sure to take the matter to the Lord. He truly can direct and change your husband's heart.
