Betrayed
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: What do you do when circumstances or people threaten to wreck your life? Do you become bitter and resentful? Do you let worry steal your joy?
Matthew chapter 26 tells us that Jesus was “betrayed into the hands of sinners.” These people tortured Him. They put Him to death, and He voluntarily allowed it to happen. Why? Because Jesus knew that these circumstances were only temporary, and that ultimately, His life was in God’s hands.
What a reminder that people or difficult circumstances don’t have the final word on our lives! As God’s children, our lives are found in His hands. Whatever misery, struggles, pain, or discomfort you may face, you are safe and secure when your life is committed to Him.
Jesus died to save us from God’s wrath, and He also died to redeem everything about this broken world. You can rest in Him and trust that redemption is coming.
