Between the Cuckoos
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: I know lots of moms struggle with how to get time in God’s Word when they have little ones at home. I once asked an older, godly woman how she did it when her children were little.
Woman: When our daughter was two to three years old, we had a clock which gave the time every thirty minutes. I would tell her that I was having time with Jesus. She would sit with her book—sometimes it was upside down—and she would have her own quiet time. After the bird cuckooed, we would have time as mom and daughter. She knew to let me have that time between cuckoos!
Nancy: Not only was that mom getting consistent time in the Word of God herself, she was also allowing the words from 2 Timothy 3:15 to be true in her daughter’s life: “From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.”
Perhaps tomorrow, you could set up your own “time between the cuckoos.”
