A Big Deal
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Resurrection Sunday is just around the corner. My friend Barbara Rainey says something is missing from many of the popular ways of celebrating this holiday.
Barbara Rainey: The culture has made Easter all about bunnies and chicks and flowers and pastel colors. It’s not about the cross; it’s not about the resurrection.
Nancy: The apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, that if it weren’t for Christ’s resurrection, we would still be dead in our sins, without hope. Yet Barbara says that for many Christians, our celebration on Resurrection Day is half-hearted at best.
Barbara: It just kills me. It grieves me. It’s so wrong. We need to make a big deal out of Easter. We need to elevate it. We need to have a grand, glorious, fabulous party.
Nancy: So here’s the challenge: How can you be more intentional this year about your celebration of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus?
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
