Boasting in Weakness
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Do you ever feel you just can’t do one more thing?
Leslie Basham: This is Seeking Him, with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
Nancy: I remember once being physically and emotionally depleted in the middle of a grueling season of ministry, and I was getting ready to head out on yet another trip.
At one point I just collapsed into a chair and began to sob. I could have tried to pull myself together, put on a strong front, and somehow muster up the strength to go on.
But I knew that acting in self-sufficiency would cause me to forfeit the grace and presence of God in my life. So with the apostle Paul, I chose to say, “I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.”
If you’re in that situation, would you do what I did that day? Humble yourself, admit your need, and cry out to the Lord for His grace.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
