Busy for God

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: It’s easy to get really busy doing things for God.

Woman: I teach three-year-olds. I’m Assistant Deputy Secretary for Meals on Wheels. I’m the Junior Coordinator for the Forty but Sporty group.

Nancy: It’s easy to get so busy that we forget why we’re serving in the first place.

Woman: I’m on the welcoming committee. I’m at the Wednesday night choir practice.

Nancy: In the Song of Solomon, the Shulamite woman says, “They made me keeper of the vineyards, but my own vineyard I have not kept!”

I think that we too often neglect our own “spiritual vineyard.” It’s easy to get so busy serving others that we don’t have time to cultivate intimacy with God ourselves.

Would you stop and evaluate your schedule? If you’re not spending time in prayer and the Word of God, maybe it’s time to make some changes.

With Seeking Him, I'm Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
