Carried Home
Leslie Basham: This is Seeking Him, with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: I once led a summer day camp for children. One day one of our counselors went hiking in the mountains and slipped on the path. She fell instantly to her death. The next day I had to tell those children what had happened to their counselor. I thought about the biblical story of Lazarus, the beggar, who was escorted to heaven by the angels when he died.
I told those children that we couldn’t see what had happened on that path but that God had said to one of His angels that morning, “I want you to go, and I want you to get Miss Vicki, and I want you to bring her to Me today.” So when it looked to us like she slipped on that path, what really happened is that the angels picked her up and carried her to heaven.
If you’ve put your faith in Christ, death is not something to be feared. At the right time, God will send His angels to carry you home.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
