Check with the Lord
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: We’re constantly getting asked to do things.
Woman 1: Will you teach a Sunday school class this quarter?
Man 1: We need you to sing in the choir.
Woman 2: The company has an exciting new project for you.
Woman 3: Could you babysit my kids every Thursday?
Man 2: Hey, you ought to think about starting a radio program!
Nancy: There are lots of good activities, but that doesn’t mean they are all God’s priorities for us in every season of life. When someone asks us to do something, you know what we need to say? "Let me check with the Lord first, and I’ll let you know."
When making a decision, I often claim the promise of Proverbs 16:3: “Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.”
You’ll have a lot of opportunities to do a lot of activities today. Have you spent time asking God what He wants you to do?
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
