Dear Confused
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: I once read a dialogue between two confused people—one of them an advice columnist.
Confused: Dear Dr. Tracy, My husband and I have been married for four years. Lately, I can’t stand to talk or even be around him. I’ve told him I’m not in love with him anymore.
Dr. Tracy: You’re too young to settle for a life without love. The sooner you leave the better off you—and eventually—your husband will be.
Nancy: Sometimes our relationships give us happy emotional feelings, and sometimes they don’t. It’s easy to confuse the feelings with love. But God has shown us what love really is. He gave His Son for us, even when we couldn’t give Him anything in return.
We’re called to do the same thing—giving time, attention, affection, and commitment—even when we’re not getting much emotional satisfaction back.
What can you do today to show true love?
