During These Years

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: When a mom has preschoolers at home, it can be really hard to find time to spend in God’s Word. I asked an older, godly woman how she handled that when her children were little.

Woman: Remember that this season won’t last forever. It’s so important to keep our personal time with the Lord during these years, but you can’t always predict the time and place. When my children were small, I taped up verses on cabinets and over the sink, even on the dash of the car. It was a lot easier to memorize that way.

Nancy: That reminds me of Deuteronomy 6, which talks about God’s commands and says, “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand. . . . You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates” (vv. 8–9).

What could you do, practically, to keep your attention focused on the Word of God? Like that one mom, you may want to post some verses on the dash of your car.

With Seeking Him, I'm Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
