Election Anxiety?
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Almost everyone I know is expressing concern and consternation about the upcoming election. It’s easy to feel really disheartened when we look at the choices before us. And social media is crammed with debates about what to do.
Well, we know one thing for certain: God’s not up in Heaven, wringing His hands, worrying about who’s going to win. In fact, He tells us in Psalm 118, “It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.”
Daniel chapter 2 tells us that God “changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings.”
In Psalm 2, it says the LORD actually laughs at the schemes and plots of the nations.
So if you’re feeling anxious about what’s going to happen next Tuesday, lift up your eyes. Fix them on King Jesus. Nothing is taking Him by surprise. As my husband and I keep saying to each other: Heaven rules!
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
