Endurance Produces Character
Child: Can I just try it once?
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: It seems like some children like to press every issue.
Child: But why, Mom?
Nancy: They just can’t accept the answer that you give them.
Child: But, Mom . . .
Nancy: Too often we can approach our Heavenly Father the same way.
Child: Wait a minute—listen, listen . . .
Nancy: We forget that God allows us to go through hard times for a purpose—to train us, to mold us into the image of His Son, and to develop godly character in us.
That’s why the apostle Paul could say, “We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance character, and character hope.”
Have you been resisting some circumstance God’s brought into your life? Why not say, “Lord, I receive this as from Your hand. Use it to mold me and make me into the image of Jesus.”
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
