Every Day?

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: What would you think about a couple who rarely spoke to each other?

Woman: Hey, you're not going to sleep, are you?

Man: Yeah, I’m tired.

Woman: But you haven’t said a single word to me all day.

Man: Well, we talked yesterday.

Woman: Yeah, but . . .

Man: Do you expect to talk . . . like . . . every day?!

Nancy: If you only communicate sporadically with your mate, you’re not going to have a very close relationship.

The same thing is true in our relationship with God. I’ve found that it’s impossible to cultivate an intimate relationship with God unless I spend time each day alone with Him. I can’t just try to squeeze Him into my schedule here and there and expect to have a vital, growing friendship.
